Creating connections
Partners in Excellence is an annual event hosted by The Youth Partnership, dedicated to recognising and celebrating the exceptional achievements of Host Employers and Educators in the local community. This formal awards evening and sit-down dinner highlights the outstanding support for the work placement program in South-East Sydney. All winners are announced and awarded on the evening, recognising businesses across a range of industries and teachers from each school sector. Additionally, we take pride in announcing and celebrating our own Team Member of the Year award during this event.
Partners in Excellence is held toward the end of Term 1, serving as a platform to honour the achievements of the previous year. It allows us to reflect on the remarkable contributions made by our partners and express our gratitude for their commitment to our organisation.
The nomination process involves careful consideration of feedback received from work placement students and VET Teachers through surveys. The Youth Partnership team, along with representatives from the Department of Education, Sydney Catholic Schools, Australian Independent Schools, and TAFE, evaluate the nominees based on their support and excellence in the VET work placement program. The finalists are then selected based on a comprehensive selection criterion that recognises their overall contribution.
Partners in Excellence is an invitation-only event. Initially, invitations are extended to all award finalists and their guests, event sponsors, representatives of our funding body, charity partners, and other key contributors to our program. We also strive to release additional tickets to Host Employers who have made significant contributions to the work placement program, even if they are not finalists this year. Please note that once we reach capacity, no further tickets will be available. This is an over 18’s event, sorry no children allowed.

Partners in Excellence attracts approximately 150 local community members, including Vocational Education Teachers, Host Employers, and other important stakeholders. Partners in Excellence is a formal gala event, and we invite our guests to dress accordingly. We appreciate attendees dressing in formal or black-tie apparel to make a memorable red-carpet entrance, adding to the glamour and elegance of the evening.
